Filmless Radiography

MB Inspection now offers computed radiography (CR),one of the latest developments in filmless RT. Recent improvements in storage phosphor, laser, and computer technology have made "CR" an excellent alternative to film based RT systems.

The Fuji computed (filmless) radiography system provides a full field of view, improved spatial and superior contrast resolution. It eliminates special handling and the processing needed for film and works without specialised focal spots.

Filmless radigraphs are shot in just the same way as for film but typical exposure times are reduced by 60%.

The imaging plates are flexible and have no power supply. They are reused time and time again, going through the read and erase cycle after each shot. Pixel density for a 14" x 17" imaging plate is 3560 x 4320 (4K) pixels per scene. This combined with image enhancing software provides excellent high resolution, images.

Radiographic images are stored in a tamper proof format and are indexed for ease of retrieval. The many image processing tools only affect how the image is displayed. Annotations and enhancements are stored as overlays and do not change the original radiograph.

These include:

Images may be exported in common graphic formats and supplied on CD with built-in reader software. We believe the system is equal to or better than wet film techniques. It reduces exposures including the need for multiple film shots and reshots. Processing chemicals and darkroom processing is eliminated and the images are easier to read and interpret.
